The Only Thing That Could Hold Us Down: Rain

Well I'm sorry to say our 2009 debut will have to wait until next week. The rain on Tuesday apparently made the field too mushy. Since we don't have anything awesome to write for the recap here is the next best thing.

RE: Player Ejection Notice


Due to your unsportsmanlike conduct during the Bayside vs. Zambini Brothers game on August 13, 2008, you normally would have been suspended for your next Wednesday CC League game. Since the season is now concluded, you will be suspended from your next game in a Recreation Division league. Please inform me as to your next team's name and league playing in so we can take the appropriate action. The rules that cover your actions are stated below:


Anyone ejected from a game for any of the following reasons will be suspended for the next game and could be suspended for a longer period of games, the remainder of the season, or a permanent suspension from all activities conducted at any time by the Parks & Recreation Department:


A. Unduly questioning or disputing a judgment call(s).


B. Profanity, obscene gestures, or disparaging remarks on the field, bench area or surrounding area.


C. Unsportsmanlike conduct.


If an individual is ejected from a second game in the same league, he/she will be suspended from that league for the remainder of the season, including tournament play.


If three (3) participants (players, managers and coaches are considered participants) from the same team are ejected in the same game, the game is over and will be declared a forfeit to the other team.


This behavior will not be tolerated by the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department. Any additional unsportsmanlike conduct displayed by you in any Parks and Recreation league (basketball, softball, football, dodge ball, volleyball) will result in a more severe suspension.

We do not dispute that Nick should have been tossed. We just wanted you guys to have full disclosure. So until Nick gets back we'll just have to wait...
